This is obviously a bad idea. But it’s an excellent bad idea.

Fuck me that’s tempting.

If the bulkhead is sound I’d probably keep it as is, apart from a tailgate and some wiper blades.
I think I’ll have to have a look.

Definitely let me know what you find and if you want it, have to noodle whether or not I have time for a project like that. I would want to return it to bog standard.

Dont think, just do.

That is an excellent bad idea. The metal looks to be in decent shape, though the pictures aren’t giving much away really. The bulkhead looks solid enough that it would be easily repairable of it does have some rot.

Again, I would have to outsource such work, but I trust Spanner Monkeys implicitly. I’ve emailed the bloke to see if I can have a look tomorrow. Who needs savings anyway?

Fancy a drive to the ‘Peth tomorrow?

I do not have time for it, but in the future, maybe.

Yeah, I guess what I meant was, someone with a welder and metal skills could probably get the bulkhead in great shape for less than $500. They sell for at least three times that over here on the left side of the puddle.
Savings is overrated for sure. That’s why I keep buying old and cheap (relative to their sticker) Mercedes.

Could do, what time abouts?

Ah but you have a distinct benefit in that regard, in that you are a Merc tech. I draw and colour in for a living.
Anyway it’s SOLD, but he has ‘59 coming up in a couple of weeks. Ya snooze ya lose.

Forget it, it’s sold :(
He has another coming soon so maybe then.

Yeah, but parts are still absurd.
Lame. I know where a pair of running/driving S1's sit, but I’m guessing 10k miles away is a little far for you. And I’m not sure the owners are willing to part either.

I could ship them to RamblinRover and then he can ship them to me in Jiffy bags.

Awww. We still need to visit that Japanese import dealer sometime, that I posted a while back.

I can see three problems with this scenario. You have to assemble something that someone else took apart. Half of the fasteners will break because old rover. The other half of the fasteners well be lost in transit, just because that’s how these things go.

But RR sure would enjoy himself :)

Me neither, probably a good thing it was sold. The wife is already slightly annoyed with me, this might have been pushing it.
